TEACHING VALUES EDUCATION

One of the best approaches in Values Teaching is BILLBOARD APPROACH. This way ,your day to day teaching is easy and enjoyable. You do not concentrate on various notes and write-ups but on something that is attractive and can create retention in the minds of your students. How do you do that? Look for popular quotes, slogan, biblical quotes, quotations, anecdotes, short story and or one-liner statement and use these in your discussions. Just focus on one or two of the said BILLBOARD WORDS. Remember, your mission is to inject  a  value or virtue that will remind him all the time in all his ways.If possible, integrate in your lessons some songs ,expessions and interests of the young today. These things will surely arouse their interests and care to listen to you.Long time copying on the board for 30min to one hour is a NO-No scenario in VALUES TEACHING.Writing activity in Values Education is Journal writing ONLY where they express their insights or reflections about you lessons.

As Values Education teacher, your main goal is to equip the learner with the necessary values, virtues and principles that will guide him whenever he needs it.To make it possible, all that he hears from the VE teacher must be recorded in the sub conscious mind and to do that is to make sure that your lesson is interesting and enjoyable.

GOODLUCK VE TEACHERS!
